This morning I decided to drive to my parents hometown. I decided I needed some family time and some “road time” as I like to refer to it…
I also decided that spending time eating my normal breakfast would be a waste of time- therefore I did a breakfast smoothie (take two).This time? No spinach. Also? Since I can’t do whey- I put in a bit of egg protein powder.
Conclusion? I’ll stick to my Ezekiel Bread, Eggs and Strawberries. Thank you very muchly. I’m sorry party people. I cannot get behind the breakfast smoothie. Fast and quick? Yes. But what a waste of a meal. Blerg. No enjoyment whatsoever!!!
Bonus? This photo also counts in the photo a day challenge as the cup is empty. And the category today is just that – empty.
Madison? Win.
Smoothies? Lose.

I’ll tell you what I do if I want a “healthy” smoothie.
8-10 oz Sunrype Mango-passionfruit juice
handful of little carrots
handful of spinach
1 tbsp coconut (sometimes, sometimes not.)
BLEND, then add
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen mangos
1/3 cup of ice
BLEND AGAIN, then enjoy.
Sometimes I’ll add a tbsp of plain soy protein powder, and sometimes I’ll add half or 1/3 of a frozen banana. I pre-blend the carrots and spinach because they aren’t blended *enough* then they’re gross.
Try it and let me know what you think! My kids fight over the stuff like it’s candy, haha. Blueberries + spinach seem to make it taste sortof like acai. I leave yogurt out of this one for taste-reasons.
